2012 – present
Scientific assistant (publications and project management) at the Center for Cellular Imaging and Nanoanalytics (C-CINA), Biozentrum, University of Basel, Switzerland.
2009 – 2012
Scientific assistant at the Center for Cellular Imaging and Nanoanalytics (C-CINA), Biozentrum, University of Basel, Switzerland.
Responsible for running STEM projects in the group of Prof. A. Engel. Later continued to work with STEM in the group of Prof. Henning Stahlberg.
1989 – 2009
Postdoctoral fellow / Scientific assistant at the Maurice E. Müller Institute, Biozentrum, University of Basel, Switzerland, in the group of Prof. Andreas Engel.
Carried out many of the evaluations required for STEM mass measurement projects in the groups of Prof. Andreas Engel and Prof. Ueli Aebi and instructed other users. In the later period, responsible for the STEM projects.
1979 - 1989
Break in working life; family.
1977 - 1979
Postdoctoral fellow in the group of Prof. Eduard Kellenberger at the Biozentrum, University of Basel, Switzerland.
Experience : Learnt transmission and scanning transmission electron microscopy (TEM, STEM) under Jacques Dubochet and Andreas Engel.
Aim of the project: To decrease contamination and etching under the electron beam of the scanning transmission electron microscope, to allow the mass of a protein/protein complex to be accurately determined from its electron scattering power.
Side project: Spreading of DNA on carbon supports by glow discharge procedures for subsequent electron microscopy.
